To the married moms who juggle a husband and children, to the single moms who literally have to do it all, to the working moms who want to give their children an abundant life, to the moms who have babies in heaven, to the moms that are building a baby inside them, to the moms who struggle with infertility, to the step moms who are raising kids they did not birth, to the adoptive mom who gave a mother to the motherless, to the mom who cannot hug their mother today, to the surrogate mom who acts as a replacement, to the mom’s of multiples (Lord BLESS), to the moms who have kids with disabilities, and to the people who have a mom in heaven,
Happy Mother’s Day.
God gave us an extraordinary innate gift of Motherhood. We have been given the ability to love in a way that surpasses all understanding, instincts that men cannot replicate, and energy that seems to come from nowhere. Women can take on the burdens of motherhood without having to give birth, we are strong in the face of adversity, and we can muster patience even when we’re at the end of our rope. We do things that may be difficult but know it is best for our kids, we give even when it seems like no one notices, and we can tolerate an indescribable amount of pain, physical and emotional. Mother’s Day is a day set aside to give our Mother’s a small fraction of recognition they deserve.
From monthly cramps and hormone fluctuations, to the pain of childbirth, postpartum depression, breastfeeding, and worry that keeps us up at night, having one day a year to celebrate mother’s seems like it wouldn’t cut it, but we’re totally okay with that because we do what we do out of love, and wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. Our reward is our Happy Children and that makes everything more than worth it.
So, Mom’s, Happy Mother’s Days. You’re loved an immeasurable amount every day. Enjoy today as you’re celebrated for the things you do all year, thank God for your extraordinary abilities, because He gave us incredible strength and we are capable of SO MUCH.
